Online Primary Education
Junior School - Key Stage 2
Our Junior School offers an exceptional British education to pupils across the world and is a school community that has pupils and family at its heart. Read below to learn more about life at our Junior School.
Our Junior School Curriculum
We have a creative approach and have developed a curriculum model that is engaging, develops curious, independent learners and is tailored to your child's needs.
The My Online Schooling Junior School curriculum is centred on:
- Creativity
- Cooperation
- Connectedness to the world
- Inclusion
We are committed to supporting your child to achieve their full potential and develop a life-long love of learning.
How do online primary school lessons work?
We keep our class sizes small (no more than 20 pupils per class). We know this is hugely beneficial to our pupils’ learning experience. All of our lessons are taught live by our team of experienced primary school teachers that are there every step of the way to encourage a passion for learning.
Just like in any traditional primary school, your child will be supported by the same dedicated class teacher across all subjects. This means our teachers can really get to know you and your child, building and maintaining home school partnerships throughout the academic year.
We encourage active participation in all live lessons. We also set independent learning tasks to follow on from lessons and consolidate learning.
Year 3 at My Online Schooling
In 2019, we were delighted to add Year 3 to our Junior School offering, making us one of the few online British schools providing education for children under 8 years old.

Our Junior School subject package
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are available as a set curriculum package of core subjects, and optional additional subjects. The package covers all key subject areas. However, there is a strong focus on cross-curricular learning, giving your child exposure to a range of different learning experiences.

Additional support
We know that every child has their own pace and style of learning. We are proud to offer a range of options to support our Junior pupils should they need it:

Friendly Faces
When a pupil joins My Online Schooling Junior School, they will be assigned to a Friendly Faces Group:
-
Challenger Chat-Time
-
Enthusiastic Endeavours
-
Enterprise Exchanges
-
Discovery Discussions
Developing social interaction is so important to us within the Junior School and every fortnight after assembly on Wednesdays, we are delighted to give pupils the opportunity to socialise and collaborate with their peers across Years 3-6 in their Friendly Faces sessions.
In addition, pupils are given a further opportunity to chat and play games with their class peers in our Friendly Faces Fifteen sessions, which take place in the last lesson each week (PSHE) for 15 minutes.
Half-Termly ILA Celebrations
At My Online Schooling, 'ILA' stands for Independent Learning Assignment.
We are always so proud of pupil outcomes and achievements at My Online Schooling. With our ILA celebrations, we provide opportunities for families to come together during the final week of every half-term and share pupil progress and success in a special online classroom celebration.
We ensure we extend our invite to these showcase celebrations to wider family located across the globe, such as our Bring Your Grandparent to School Day.
'Above & Beyond' Award and Hot Chocolate with the Head
Our Above & Beyond Award is given to pupils who have been nominated by their class teachers every fortnight. Nominations may link to our values, Respect, Empower, Thrive, attitudes to learning, collaborative working or an excellent piece of work produced. Pupils receive a celebratory certificate and special mention in assembly and are invited to attend a special Hot Chocolate with the Head session to celebrate their nomination.
Subject Hubs
Our aim is to foster a curiosity and independence in our pupils that sets them up for lifelong learning. Our Junior teaching team has put together fantastic resources located in our Subject Hubs, accessible to all Junior pupils, where pupils can spend time independently exploring and learning about topics that link to the curriculum and find resources which both support and extend their learning. Pupils can delve into such resources in our English, Maths, Science, Humanities, PSHE and Computing Subject Hubs.
Parent Curriculum Events
We are dedicated to sharing ideas, strategies and resources with our parents/carers to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to support learning at home and we are delighted to host two curriculum events every year to support both English and Maths home learning.
