As Head of our Secondary school, I manage and support our teachers, pupils and families across all levels of our Secondary School. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia, where I studied both history and social studies education at the University of Georgia. As part of my education degree, I had the chance to work with secondary students with varied, and sometimes complex, learning needs. It was especially rewarding to get to know these students and their families, helping them find the best possible learning experience.
I moved to Edinburgh in 2017 and built on my university experiences by working for a children’s healthcare charity – which gave me another chance to support young people with complex needs and showed me just how important a flexible education can be to some young people.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy exploring new places in the UK and Europe, as well as getting back to the US to catch up with family and friends. I also enjoy reading, baking and watching films.
